I develop and teach workshops on topics in computational biology. Check out my Tutorials page to for learning resources.
My passion for research and science was initially driven by a desire to understand the evolution of plant chemistry, especially compounds involved in ecological interactions. I am interested in processes that shape this evolution at all levels, from sequences to enzyme structure, and from population genetics to phylogenomics. I am completed by PhD in Plant Biology and Conservation at the Chicago Botanic Garden and Northwestern University, advised by Drs Norm Wickett and Krissa Skogen. My graduate work combined genomics, chemical analysis, and field and greenhouse studies to understand floral scent evolution and linalool production in Oenothera. Read more about my work here...
